    The maximum loan amount per gram shall be determined based on the applicable Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio prescribed under RBI/regulatory guidelines and the Bank's internal policy. The value of the pledged gold shall be calculated using the lower of (i) the average closing price of gold of the relevant purity for the preceding 30 days, or (ii) the previous day's closing price, as published by the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. (IBJA). Where the price for the exact purity is not available, the Bank shall use the published price of the nearest available purity and proportionately adjust the weight based on the actual purity to arrive at the valuation.

    1. Who is eligible to apply for a Gold Loan at ESAF Bank?

    Any Indian resident aged 18 Year to 80 Year old individuals and above who owns eligible gold jewellery and submits valid KYC(Know your customer) documents can apply for a Gold Loan, subject to bank policies and verification.

    2. Are farmers or agriculturists eligible for a Gold Loan?
    Yes. ESAF Bank offers Agricultural Gold Loan schemes designed to support farmers and agriculturists in meeting seasonal agricultural expenses, crop cultivation needs, and allied activities.
    3. Where is the applicable Gold Loan interest rate mentioned?
    The applicable Gold Loan interest rate is clearly specified in the Gold Loan Sanction Letter/Gold Loan Pledge Card/KFS (Key Fact Statement) executed at the time of loan disbursement. Customers are advised to retain these documents for future reference.
    4. Can I transfer my existing Gold Loan from another bank or NBFC?
    Yes, ESAF provides a Gold Loan takeover facility, allowing you to transfer your existing Gold Loan to any ESAF branch.
    5. How is jewellery valued if it contains stones or other materials?
    If jewellery contains non-gold components such as plastic, artificial stones, beads, or base metals, ESAF Bank’s authorized gold appraiser will assess only the net gold content. The weight of non-gold materials will be excluded during valuation.
    6. Is partial repayment allowed, and can pledged jewellery be partially released?
    Partial repayment of the Gold Loan is permitted. However, partial release of pledged jewellery is subject to the bank’s policy and the applicable Loan-to-Value ratio at the time of repayment. Requests are evaluated as per internal guidelines.
    7. What documents are required to apply for a Gold Loan?
    Generally required documents include:
    • Valid KYC documents (Identity and Address proof)
    • PAN, if applicable as per regulatory norms

    Additional documentation Specifically for Agri Loans require proof of farming in a specified format may be requested depending on the loan amount and applicable policies.

    In case of a significant decline in gold prices, ESAF Bank may request a margin payment or additional security in accordance with internal policy and regulatory guidelines.
